Atmosphere was fun and upbeat. We happened to dine on trivia night which was also Taco Tuesday. The fish tacos were amazing! Both the tuna and the mahi! Would recommend this spot!
Great restaurant. Unexpected deliciousness. i had the grilled cheese with crab and shrimp. They certainly did not skimp on the meat...so good. My husband had the fried shrimp. The shrimp were large and there were enough of them for a good meal.
My girl friend and I wanted to meet for lunch and we found this hidden gem and decided to give this spot a shot . I loved that it was right off of the water and the service was nice . They accommodated is very well and we enjoyed ourselves. I loved the appetizers and the ginger beer was my absolute favorite. I'll definitely be back for brunch or HH soon !
What a wonderful place. It's way off the beaten path in the Dundalk area of Baltimore, but if you can make your way out here via Uber or other means, check it out. Service was terrific, bartenders were friendly and great, drinks were strong and prices were reasonable, all on a great waterfront atmosphere. Next time I'm here - and there will be a next time, give me a nice orange crush with some Jimmy Buffet playing.
I asked my husband to pick someplace for lunch we had never been before. That's how we arrived here, plus looking up the reviews. This restaurant is on the waterfront of Bear Creek, and wow! What a beautiful view on this crisp, clear day. Surrounded by yachts and boats still shrinkwrapped. There is plenty of outside dining on the pier Inside, it looks like a dive. I'm just thinking back to some old haunts from early college days. Lots of autographed dollar bills and all kinds of collectibles, come in and see for yourself. The music is soft rock and perfect for this type of bar. You know... Jimmy Buffet and so on. The menu is double-sided, straightforward, and not overly busy. I asked if there were daily specials, yes. Today was a NY strip steak with 2 sides. Come to find out they are listed by the entrance by the bar. My husband was true to form with his well done (yes, they will char it for you) hamburger. Add onion rings for $2. I had the Fisherman's Grilled Cheese, which is toasted bread, Monterey jack cheese, lumps of crab meat, and pieces of decently sized pieces of shrimp. It was really good! Just moist enough and not greasy. Added onion rings, too. We were too full for dessert. They have a card on the table top with them. Parking was a bit limited, and I can just imagine this is a hopping place in the summer with all the drink specials and the sailing patrons. Handicapped spots are available.
This place was so good, we ate here 2 nights in a row. The shrimp salad wrap was surprisingly good, the perfect amount of seasoning, the shrimp were plump and fresh and all wrapped perfectly. I would actually skip the conch fritters, I tried them because it looked like a novelty here, but it wasn't my style. The Baltimore Bomb dessert wasn't really my style either, for some reason it tasted like coconut to me, but I had to try it since it was a "local specialty." The steak in the steak quesadilla was really tender and flavorful. They were generous with the steak in the quesadilla as well. The shrimp taco was delicious also, the waitress (I think her name was Miranda) also put all the sauces and toppings on the side for my picky child. Service was great, Miranda was attentive and recognized us the second night we stopped by. They have live music and both nights sounded great, the singer/band was really upbeat and added some liveliness to the night. Glad I was able to find this place through Harvest Hosts while traveling.
The ambiance of this dockside indoor/outdoor restaurant is amazing! Open everyday early morning and until late night, this place always seems to have something going on whether it's live band music or a modest amount of repeat visitors and patrons. The boat dock is also visually stunning as captains are busy docking and tending to their boats while onlookers at the covered pier seating area nearby and from the restaurant enjoy the view. Hard Yacht Cafe is located in a nice size boat marina with a boat ramp and small store for boat supplies and boat storage needs. Often you will see the large boat cranes lifting boats in and out of the water for storage or maintenance, which is an interesting site as opposed to the regular boat launches from trailers at most other boat ramps. At night this place seems to get a bit more lively as the music can be heard easily from the immediate surroundings and the colorful lights from the restaurant attracts other boaters from the bay and locals from near and afar. The food is certainly a big plus since they serve fresh seafood and food that is shareable with friends with a nice cold drink. I recommend The Hard Yacht Cafe to anyone who would like to get away from the busy city scene for a quick drive away from the National Harbor and Fells Point to a nice seaside view with charm.
First off, check in. You'll get a 10% discount which HYC will honor. After learning that our favorite on-the-water spot, the River Watch, had been bought and transformed into something more yuppie-sounding, which is often an unwelcoming vibe for me, we've been on the lookout for a new waterfront luncheon place. We took my mom to HYC this week. This was her first time, but Jeremy and I have been once before, in the winter, to see some band play. That experience was fine, but yesterday's lunch was a real winner. My mom hadn't even ordered yet and was already talking about what she was going to try next time. We arrived around 1:30 and it was packed out on the deck. I mean, it was 85 degrees and absolutely gorgeous on the water, so it's no surprise that the only tables that were empty were the ones in the sunshine. By 2 it had cleared out quite a bit, so I think next time we'll come a tiny bit later so we won't need to sit in the sun. The appetizer menu is amazing, so that's all I ordered. I got the HYC eggrolls, which are filled with crab dip and some shrimp. It comes with a sweet thai chili sauce. They are delightful. I also got the conch fritters, but weren't so pleased with those. I boxed them up and sent them home with my mom. No harm, no foul. I like trying new things and sometimes it doesn't work out. Such is life. My boyfriend got the clam strips, which were so fat and delicious that they could not have possibly come out of a box. They came with cocktail sauce. And he had a lb of snowcrab legs, with butter, which he really seemed to enjoy. Personally I don't see the point in eating crab without Old Bay, but it is fun to watch others wrestle with those long legs. My mom had the Shrimp Melt - a sandwich with provolone and mozzarella and bruschetta. It was a decent sandwich. She enjoyed it. Next time I'm totally getting the fried pickles and a pulled pork sandwich. See? Next time. Such a great atmosphere. Would recommend
When you are driving to this location the closer you get the more you wonder if you are going the right way because there isn't really much in terms of businesses there When we arrived we weren't sure if we had arrived lol or where to park but once we figured it out and went inside it was packed! The food is super delicious! The wings are chunky big and fried really well! They have the good ball ice in all their drinks and the meatloaf had a Salisbury steak flavor which I liked!
